Bridezilla is an Understatement

One of my friends forwarded me this article and first it made me laugh. Later I wasn’t sure if this girl was for real. Yes, it is her wedding and she is obviously overly organized, but come on girl! Act like a lady!  Here is her letter. Enjoy and let me know what you think:

To m lovely Bridesmaid: [Names removed to protect the brideslaves]

As you all know I picked 10 wonderful ladies to stand by my side, share and make happen my special day to Jake. Each of you individually have a reason and a special place in my heart of why I picked you to be a bridesmaid. We have set our date for Saturday, August 31, 2013 in Vail, Colorado. That seems far away but it really isn’t, the earlier the planning the better. You may have already knew that my wonderful sister L— will be the Maid of Honor, she’s in charge under me. Also my lovely mom will be a big help as well. L— has a big role in throwing me a bridal shower and bachelorette party, of course all of you guys do but at the end of the day shes the go to person and makes it happen.

You all have a big roll in this wedding, so before we continue I’m going to be setting some ground rules and its very important you read and think about everything through before you accept this honor to be a bridesmaid. If you guys email anything I would also like you to put L— in the CC. Not all the bridesmaid need to be CC’d unless its coming from me or L—, if it something everyone needs to see then well do it. We set the date to August 31, 2013 if that’s a problem we need to know NOW. Also by the end of the week we will be setting dates for the engagement party, bridal show and bachelorette party.

Our wedding party is really the most important people at the wedding besides my self and Jake so we want every single one of our bridesmaid and grooms at our parties, I have 10 not 8 where two couldn’t make it so if you already know you cant make one of the parties then we have to find someone else, not to be harsh in the slightest it would sadden me and of course you’ll still be invited to our wedding, engagement ect. But it’s different if your not in the wedding party and couldn’t make it. We’ll give everyone well advance dates for the parties and it will always fall on a weekend. The wedding as I stated will be in Vail the engagement party will either be in NY or CT and the bachelorette party will be in Vegas, cliche yeaa but I’ve never been.

A few girls live out of town so if there is going to be a problem with coming to either one then I need to know now because after this week I don’t want to be surprised. I would like everyone to send me any dates they are going away or planning to go away after February so if your going away in January I don’t care. I want any dates from February to the day of our wedding in August, that way we know not to plan something when your away. But after this week the dates are set in stone. Also if money is tight and you cant afford to contribute to say the bachelorette party or wont be able to afford a dress etc then L— and Myself don’t have time to deal with that, I’m sorry. This includes flights as well, everyone knows the states where the parties are going to be held so if you wont be able to afford a flight then that means you cant make a party which ultimately means I cant have you as a bridesmaid. Obviously we’ll get the best deals and were not gonna books flights for $1000 and shit that’s why were doing this in advance, that goes for bridesmaids dresses as well everything will be affordable but if you think by affordable its going to be a $25 forever 21 dress then your going to the wrong wedding.

If your out of state though don’t think you have to fly in for all fittings, that we will work with you, find stores in your town, get measurements..you don’t have to worry about that. Also if you accept this honor another thing is that you need to be available, I’m not going to harass you with wedding stuff every hour of everyday but if its something important and it takes you a week even 2-3 days to get back to me seeeee ya! I don’t have time to wait around for responses, everyone has their phone on them, it shouldn’t take you more than a day to get back to me, even if your out of the country, check your email!

Furthermore, Ever since I could remember I have dreamed about this day all my life. I want to share it with the people that are most important to me. You only get one time to plan your dream wedding and I couldn’t pick a more amazing group of girls to make that dream come true! So please, what’s stated above think about it all and by Wednesday I need to know if everyone is 100% in, and what I have asked about sending me dates if your gonna be away between Feb-Aug ill need that on Wednesday. If you don’t think you’ll be able to attend one party but can make the rest of them I’m sorry but I’ll have to take you out as a bridesmaid and put you as a guest. If you want to get back to me before Wednesday, that’s fine. Really think about everything I’ve said. This is really going to be the most epic wedding ever so I hope you girls can share this special day with us!

For more read article here Reasons Why You Cannot Be a Bridesmaid

Remember wedding is one of the most special days of your life, but it is not worth loosing your friends over.

Wishing you a fabulous day today,

Kristina

Best Wedding Ceremony Location in Destin and Panama City Beach

Most of our brides live out of town, so choosing perfect spot for beach ceremony in Destin or Panama City Beach can be a difficult task. In this post I will try to give some professional insight and share few tips I learned in the past. So here we go:

1. Decide if you want your ceremony to be on the beach (on the sand), at the place overlooking the ocean, or green lawn.

If you go with ceremony on the beach you will l have these choices:

  •  Beach State park Pros: at some parks you can actually reserve the spot, pavilions as rain back up available at most, plenty of parking. Cons: you have to drive to the location, sot charge a fee.
  • Public beach access. There are lots of beach access in our area, so before you choose one over do your research. Pros: most are free and do not require permits. Cons: it is public, so first come first serve basis. No guarantees that the best spot will be available.
  • In front of a beach house. Pros: convenient because no driving is necessary. Cons: higher price tag.
  • In front of a resort. Pros: convenient because no driving is necessary. Can have reception at the same place. Cons: usually very populated and most resorts have chairs and umbrellas on their beach.

My best helper in finding a perfect location for each wedding is Google Maps. Once you decide if you want to do your wedding in Destin or Panama City Beach, type it in Google Maps. Find the area you want to stay at (or maybe you already decided on the resort or beach house), zoom in to that area and drag little “Pegman” to the street view. Now you are able to take a virtual walk around the area and see what is there. For example I found many public beach access right next to the resorts where my brides where staying at. You can also see nearby restaurants and shops. Pegman is awesome!

One more thing to conceder when choosing your beach ceremony location is transportation and parking. Plan ahead if you know that your wedding site has limited parking. Ask your guests, and vendors to carpool, or arrange transpiration for them (shuttles or limo buses are great options).

If you have a wedding booked with us you will have one of our wedding coordinator help you with making this decisions and guide you along the way.

What to Wear to a Beach Wedding

1. Dress 2. Dress 3. Dress 4. Dress

1. Dress 2. Dress 3. Dress

While beach weddings are a bit more relaxed that church weddings, remember that it’s

still a celebration and therefore guests should be dressed to represent that. Also remember that there will be lots of pictures taken and you want to look your best don’t you! So what do you wear? You don’t want to look casual or overdressed.

Here are few tips: pretty floral dress is always a good choice. For a bohemian look go for a flowy maxi dress. Bright colors and prints look great on the beach.

Absolute no no’s for beach weddings (or any kind of wedding for that matter) are jeans and casual shorts (girls). Oh and no white please!

Kristina

Our Beach Wedding Office: Behind The Scenes

Hello ladies,

We usually share pictures of our perfectly put together weddings. But today I will take you behind the scenes and try to explain how it comes together on your wedding day.

Our Princess Wedding Co bouquets are dropped off at your hotel the morning of the wedding.

Our wedding coordinator will show up at the ceremony site about 2 hours before the wedding.  And that’s when all the magic happens. Set up begins with our signature bamboo arbor, chairs, and aisle way decor. Then to finish the look we tie our silk sashes and set up smaller decorations.

Your guests are advised to start showing up 30 minutes prior to the ceremony.  They will be greeted by our wedding coordinator, who will direct them to take a seat and answer any questions they might have. Groom and bridal party are advised to show up 15 minutes before the ceremony. Princess Wedding Co Photographer will be there at this time to start taking pictures of decor, guests and groom.

The officiate will be at the ceremony site at least 15 minutes before the ceremony. He will take care of marriage licensee at this time. He will also assist the groom with any questions regarding vows (for some reason grooms are always nervous about messing up vows).

About 5 minutes before the ceremony the wedding coordinator will be waiting for you at the boardwalk. She will greet you, compliment you and try to calm your nerves. The bridal party will be lined up, music will start playing and all you have to do at this point is take a deep breath and walk down the aisle to meet your anxiously waiting soon-to-be husband.

and that’s a wrap….

Hope you enjoyed this behind the scenes tour.

XO,

Kristina

Celebrity Wedding Hair Trend: Soft Curls

Want to look and feel like a princess at your beach wedding? This week’s hair inspiration comes from my favorite lady Duchess of Cambridge!

Almost everywhere she goes, Kate has a simple hair-do of down with soft curls.  Kate Middleton is a great example of how a classic style can go with any occasion.  She styles her hair that way for red carpet events in the US, for Canadian tours, and even for Engagement photos.  Such a classic and elegant look!

This hair style would look great for anyone at their beach wedding!!!

Gorgeous Wedding Bouquet on a Budget

Most couples plan their wedding with a budget in mind, and more than often they will need to cut back on some things.  Here are a few ways you can save money on your flowers without taking away from the look of your wedding.

A great way to save on flowers is make sure the flowers you have for your wedding are in season. In season flowers are much cheaper letting you buy more for less money.

If you are choosing to have your flowers all in the same color, try only using one type of flower instead of mixed bouquets.  Most florists will give you a discount if you buy in bulk.  Not only are you saving money, but the flower arrangements will give a more elegant, stunning look to your beach wedding.

Bigger flowers means you don’t have to buy as many!  Peonies and hydrangeas are perfect for achieving this.  They have bigger blooms naturally.  You can still get the fullness of your flower bouquets without having to use so many flowers.  My trade trick: if you are using roses try adding some carnations in the same color. Carnations are inexpensive and will give your bouquet a softer more rounder look.

If you need to cut back on your budget, a simple thing like flowers may be your lucky out.  Flowers look great no matter what.  And don’t be afraid to ask your florist how to make things cheaper!!

Simplified Beach Wedding

Hello ladies,

I am  always looking for ways to simplify my life, my business and my home. Simple to me means organized. So how can you simplify your beach wedding? Here are few steps you need to plan your perfect beach wedding and stay sane doing it:

1. Decide on reception style. Are you looking for a restaurant, banquet room, beach pavilion, or beach house? This is where you should start your research.

2.  Book your wedding ceremony package. Most packages will take care of all your ceremony needs.

3. Decide on a ceremony location. Do you want your ceremony to be at a public beach access (close to where you will be staying?), beach state park, beach access at the resort, or in front of beach house?

4.  Decide where you want to stay. Resort vs beach house.

At this point the main things are done. Now comes the fun stuff:

1. My favorite part: get a dress!

2. Start a new board just for your wedding on Pinterest. For some inspiration follow our beach wedding boards here.

3. Pick a time for the ceremony. From my experience the best times are one and half hour before sunset or before 10 am.

4. Decide on a color palette. Stick with 2-3 color choices.

5. Pick your music.  Decide whether you would like pre-recorded vs. live music.

6. Pick your vows (our wedding officiate will email them to you so all you have to do is pick an option that fits you best)

7. Pick your cake, flowers, DJ, caterer (some places come with their own caterer, so this step may be done at the time of booking reception site)

8. Optional: Create a wedding website and post all info and directions on there. This will save you tons of phone calls and emails from your guests. I talk about it, here, at our beach wedding website.

9. Get a final count on your guests, then get a massage (trust me you’ll need it after this step).

10. Run other final details with your wedding vendors and guests.

And, finally….!

11. Enjoy your day and just have fun!

What are some steps that helped you? Please share.

Destin Beach Wedding Glitter And Glam

I’m pretty sure every girl loves items that glitter and shimmer!  Glitter for a beach wedding is perfect.  You will have the natural glitter from the ocean and the sand combined with the glitter you incorporate:  it’ll all be so beautiful put together!  So I’ve come up with a few items you can incorporate into your big day.

The best way to add glitter is  SHOES!!  I recently came across this fabulous picture:

And then I found a blog on how to do it yourself. Come visit The Kurtz Corner for step by step instructions. So many designers are coming out with very glittery and shiny shoes!  You can sport some underneath your beautiful gown, and even ask your bridesmaids to wear them too.  What a perfect way for a girl to wear some shine!

Want to try something new?  Try adding some sparkle in your flower bouquets and boutonnieres.  Many craft stores (such as Hobby Lobby and Michael’s)  sell diamond pins that can be easily stuck into the center of flowers. Another great source for fabulous pins is Save on Crafts online store (but beware this website is addicting).   Your photographs will sure to shine with these little diamonds peeking out of your flowers!

A big part of beach wedding ceremonies is cutting and eating the cake.  Dress your cake with some bling! You can ask your baker to incorporate small flashes of shine.  They can give you some shiny flowers, diamond beading, or even top the cake with colored sequins.

Show your girly side and don’t be afraid of adding glitter to your Florida beach wedding.  There are literally so many places it can be done without being overboard.  Talk to any of our wedding coordinators what they think will be best for your wedding.

Happy planning,

Kristina

Brooch Bouquets For Beach Wedding

Have you noticed that brooch bouquets are becoming a hit?  How can they not when they are simply beautiful?!  I personally love them so much.  They are awesome in so many ways: they are glamourous and shiny, you can incorporate family belongings into it (maybe your grandmother or mom have a bunch of brooches or jewelry for you to have), they can be saved the way they are for practically ever, and the extra shine in your photographs will look amazing!

Feeling crafty?  You can make your bouquet by hand if you want.  And what’s great is you can make it MONTHS in advance! So sit down with your ladies and grab your mom too.  It could be a fun craft for everyone to participate in.  But just be warned, it is a tough task to do.  It will take much patience and time.  But just think of the end product: it’ll look great!!

Brooch bouquets are so extravagant, even celebrities are carrying them down the isle!  Last year, Miranda Lambert carried a stunning one!  The neat thing about hers was that she asked all the guests at her bridal shower to bring one brooch.  Then she shipped them off and the final bouquet was designed by The Ritzy Rose (they also have Etsy shop!).  The bouquet turned out stunning!

Also here is a gorgeous brooch bouquet that was made by Mary Jo Odom at Florida Nuptials (email or call us for more info):

So gather up all your brooches and set out to have yours created!  They are sure to impress!!

Cheers,

Kristina
