To m lovely Bridesmaid: [Names removed to protect the brideslaves]

As you all know I picked 10 wonderful ladies to stand by my side, share and make happen my special day to Jake. Each of you individually have a reason and a special place in my heart of why I picked you to be a bridesmaid. We have set our date for Saturday, August 31, 2013 in Vail, Colorado. That seems far away but it really isn’t, the earlier the planning the better. You may have already knew that my wonderful sister L— will be the Maid of Honor, she’s in charge under me. Also my lovely mom will be a big help as well. L— has a big role in throwing me a bridal shower and bachelorette party, of course all of you guys do but at the end of the day shes the go to person and makes it happen.

You all have a big roll in this wedding, so before we continue I’m going to be setting some ground rules and its very important you read and think about everything through before you accept this honor to be a bridesmaid. If you guys email anything I would also like you to put L— in the CC. Not all the bridesmaid need to be CC’d unless its coming from me or L—, if it something everyone needs to see then well do it. We set the date to August 31, 2013 if that’s a problem we need to know NOW. Also by the end of the week we will be setting dates for the engagement party, bridal show and bachelorette party.

Our wedding party is really the most important people at the wedding besides my self and Jake so we want every single one of our bridesmaid and grooms at our parties, I have 10 not 8 where two couldn’t make it so if you already know you cant make one of the parties then we have to find someone else, not to be harsh in the slightest it would sadden me and of course you’ll still be invited to our wedding, engagement ect. But it’s different if your not in the wedding party and couldn’t make it. We’ll give everyone well advance dates for the parties and it will always fall on a weekend. The wedding as I stated will be in Vail the engagement party will either be in NY or CT and the bachelorette party will be in Vegas, cliche yeaa but I’ve never been.

A few girls live out of town so if there is going to be a problem with coming to either one then I need to know now because after this week I don’t want to be surprised. I would like everyone to send me any dates they are going away or planning to go away after February so if your going away in January I don’t care. I want any dates from February to the day of our wedding in August, that way we know not to plan something when your away. But after this week the dates are set in stone. Also if money is tight and you cant afford to contribute to say the bachelorette party or wont be able to afford a dress etc then L— and Myself don’t have time to deal with that, I’m sorry. This includes flights as well, everyone knows the states where the parties are going to be held so if you wont be able to afford a flight then that means you cant make a party which ultimately means I cant have you as a bridesmaid. Obviously we’ll get the best deals and were not gonna books flights for $1000 and shit that’s why were doing this in advance, that goes for bridesmaids dresses as well everything will be affordable but if you think by affordable its going to be a $25 forever 21 dress then your going to the wrong wedding.

If your out of state though don’t think you have to fly in for all fittings, that we will work with you, find stores in your town, get measurements..you don’t have to worry about that. Also if you accept this honor another thing is that you need to be available, I’m not going to harass you with wedding stuff every hour of everyday but if its something important and it takes you a week even 2-3 days to get back to me seeeee ya! I don’t have time to wait around for responses, everyone has their phone on them, it shouldn’t take you more than a day to get back to me, even if your out of the country, check your email!

Furthermore, Ever since I could remember I have dreamed about this day all my life. I want to share it with the people that are most important to me. You only get one time to plan your dream wedding and I couldn’t pick a more amazing group of girls to make that dream come true! So please, what’s stated above think about it all and by Wednesday I need to know if everyone is 100% in, and what I have asked about sending me dates if your gonna be away between Feb-Aug ill need that on Wednesday. If you don’t think you’ll be able to attend one party but can make the rest of them I’m sorry but I’ll have to take you out as a bridesmaid and put you as a guest. If you want to get back to me before Wednesday, that’s fine. Really think about everything I’ve said. This is really going to be the most epic wedding ever so I hope you girls can share this special day with us!

Every year each member of our staff shares their 8 favorite things with our readers. I really like this tradition because not only I get to share my must haves but I also discover quite a few things for myself just by reading what other girls post.

So here are my 8 favorite things:

1. Coconut oil

Seriously this is the best thing for your hair. This past year I have ruined my hair. It was dry and unhealthy. I tried keratin treatments, expensive hair masks and conditioners but nothing worked like coconut oil. And the best part: it is less than $10. Rub a little bit of coconut oil in your palms (it melts instantly) and apply it to your hair ends. I sleep with this mask overnight and then wash my hair in the morning, but you can just hold it for 10-15 minutes before shower. Use of coconut oil is almost unlimited: you can cook with it, use it as coffee creamer, use as lotion, or dietary supplement.

2. Monogrammed  Notebooks

One thing that is always  present on my desk is a notebook. It stores my to do list for the day, new random ideas for blogs and weddings, future projects, grocery lists and so on.  I have it with me during meetings and phone calls. All information first goes on my notebook. My notebook keeps me organized.

3. Green Tea Latte from Starbucks

Just love it. I actually attempted to make one myself (ordered green tea macha and all. Not sure if it is psychological or not, but it just doesn’t taste as good).

4. JCrew Perfect-Fit T-shirts

I love basic JCrew T-shirts. It seems that I love them so much that in 2012 they literally became my daily uniform. Why? Because, they are soft and perfectly long. I naturally have them in all colors.

5. Victoria Secret Pajamas

Nothing new here really. I loved VS PJ’s last year and I love them in now. Victoria Secret is the best! Here is my favorite style.

6. My iPhone

It is my timesaver, my assistant, and occasionally babysitter (restaurants and toddlers, enough said). Long ago in a stone age of beach wedding planning when bride called my cell phone with questions about date openings or any info on the exciting weddings, I had to get back to the office for that. Now I get access to all of my bride’s files on the go, I can sign contracts, get updates, have FaceTime meetings and just read my favorite blogs while standing in line at the store.

7. Michael Kors Small Crossbody Purse

I like the new trend of crossbody purse. It holds all  my essentials without the need for the big purse. I also like that  you can wear it from casual to formal event.  It is also perfect for busy moms who need their hands free to chase the kiddos.

8. Slow Cooker/ Crock Pot

I discovered crock pot just a few months ago and now I can’t live without it. I am a traditional wife in a sense that I try to cook dinner for my family. Being a full time mom who is running a growing business it is harder and harder for me to be able to cook. Well, here comes the crockpot to the rescue. It is so easy, convenient and yummy! There are tons of awesome recipes on Pinterest that you can make gourmet meals with just few ingredients. Here are few that I love:

Salsa Chicken:

4 or so chicken breasts (it can even be frozen, if you are like me and forget to defrost it),

1 can of salsa

Optional: can of drained corn, can of drained black beans

On low 6 hours, on high 4 hrs and Tada you have yummy dinner.

Pulled Pork:

about 2-6  lbs pork loin

1 sliced onionsoy sauce (or Worcester sauce)  to taste

1 tablespoon balsamic vinegar

1/2 cup of brown sugar

1/2 cup of water

salt and peper to taste

Hello our lovely readers,

Today we will visit another gorgeous wedding designed and coordinated by our company. Olivia and Rhyne got married in October. Many of you ask if october is a good month to get married and as you can see it is. Weather is nice and sun is still shining. It is not too hot and not too cold. My only recommendation for fall weddings is to have a back up plan incase of rain and be a little flexible with your time/date. For example, do not plan on leaving the day after the wedding (in case we have to move ceremony to the next day) and do not schedule ceremony too close to sunset (that way we can play with time in case it rains).  Other than that it is a perfect month for beach weddings.

If it’s one couple in Hollywood I LOVE, it is Matthew McConaughey and Camila Alves.  They are so perfectly gorgeous together!

Their ceremony took place at their home in Texas.  They even provided their guests with lodging by having their guests “camp out” in tents for the whole weekend.  How fun and unique is that idea?! or not? Not sure how I feel about camping

Matthew, looking handsome as ever, wore a Dolce and Gabana tuxedo while his beautiful Brazilian bride wore a handmade traditional Brazilian dress.

Their menu was cooked by the famous Guy Fieri who cooked up some traditional southern food such as crawfish and fried okra.

To make things personal, their two kids were part of the ceremony acting as the ring bearer and flower girl (how sweet, right?!).

I just can’t get over how beautiful this couple is, and I am totally jealous of Camila’s dress!!!!

When our staff sets up and prepares for each wedding we concentrate on making sure everything is in the right place and all vendors/guests/couples are on time. In the “organized chaos” that weddings are, it is hard to stop and enjoy  just how beautiful decorations, dress, make up, shoes are. So when I get pictures from our photographers I get to enjoy all the glorious details and then share them with you.  It’s the best part of my job!

Most of our brides live out of town, so choosing perfect spot for beach ceremony in Destin or Panama City Beach can be a difficult task. In this post I will try to give some professional insight and share few tips I learned in the past. So here we go:

1. Decide if you want your ceremony to be on the beach (on the sand), at the place overlooking the ocean, or green lawn.

If you go with ceremony on the beach you will l have these choices:

•  Beach State park Pros: at some parks you can actually reserve the spot, pavilions as rain back up available at most, plenty of parking. Cons: you have to drive to the location, sot charge a fee.
• Public beach access. There are lots of beach access in our area, so before you choose one over do your research. Pros: most are free and do not require permits. Cons: it is public, so first come first serve basis. No guarantees that the best spot will be available.
• In front of a beach house. Pros: convenient because no driving is necessary. Cons: higher price tag.
• In front of a resort. Pros: convenient because no driving is necessary. Can have reception at the same place. Cons: usually very populated and most resorts have chairs and umbrellas on their beach.

My best helper in finding a perfect location for each wedding is Google Maps. Once you decide if you want to do your wedding in Destin or Panama City Beach, type it in Google Maps. Find the area you want to stay at (or maybe you already decided on the resort or beach house), zoom in to that area and drag little “Pegman” to the street view. Now you are able to take a virtual walk around the area and see what is there. For example I found many public beach access right next to the resorts where my brides where staying at. You can also see nearby restaurants and shops. Pegman is awesome!

One more thing to conceder when choosing your beach ceremony location is transportation and parking. Plan ahead if you know that your wedding site has limited parking. Ask your guests, and vendors to carpool, or arrange transpiration for them (shuttles or limo buses are great options).

If you have a wedding booked with us you will have one of our wedding coordinator help you with making this decisions and guide you along the way.

Before choosing attire for your Destin beach wedding define your style:  are you classic kind of guy or are you more hip? Here are few fashionable options to make you look and feel like a billion bucks:

Casual beach look: white linen shirt with khaki or grey pants

Men in suite: who doesn’t love man in suit?  For a beach wedding choose light fabric (seersucker suit is great option). Stick with different shades of grey (and not the fifty kind beige and white. You sure to woe your bride in one of these:

 Hip kind a guy: add bow tie, vest and suspenders.

Accessories:  Add luxury and personality to your look with accessories such as cufflinks, tie (in your wedding color), boutonniere, neatly folded handkerchief,  or suspenders (totally trendy). Oh and sunglasses (just not during the ceremony, please!).

Hello ladies,

Today we will visit a beach wedding in Destin of Kyle and Samantha. Samantha is a fashion buyer for Dillards, so girl knows her fashion (and actually Kyle didn’t disappoint either). Every details of this wedding was planned to pefection. She was actually one of the first brides who used Pinterest to actively plan her wedding and share her design ideas with me. Sometimes planning a wedding through emails and phone calls it is challenging to get full vision of brides personality, style and ideas. Pinterest helped me tremendously. Samantha created a Pinterest board just for her wedding, where she would pin her bridesmaid dresses, flowers and decor options. She then emailed me link to her board. After signing up to follow her board I got full access to her vision and most importantly her color choices. This  helped me match her wedding ceremony colors almost to perfection.

Samatha also created wedding website where she had all information pertaining to her wedding. I wrote about wedding websites here. I love wedding websites! Yes, it takes some time to fill all info and upload pictures, but just think at the end this will save you so much time and energy.

And did you happen to see what Jessica wore down the aisle? STUNNING!  She was lucky enough to wear a pastel pink Giambattista Valli gown! And her veil was custom made by the designer including some heirloom pearls from her family!  I simply love her dress though.  The floral motif and cute and romantic ruffles are perfect for a wedding.

My favorite detail about their wedding?  Justin Timberlake wrote a song just for the event and sang it to Jessica after vows were exchanged!  AH!!!! To die for!  How romantic would it be for the love of your life to write a song just for you AND sing it to you?!  My heart melts…

While beach weddings are a bit more relaxed that church weddings, remember that it’s

still a celebration and therefore guests should be dressed to represent that. Also remember that there will be lots of pictures taken and you want to look your best don’t you! So what do you wear? You don’t want to look casual or overdressed.

Here are few tips: pretty floral dress is always a good choice. For a bohemian look go for a flowy maxi dress. Bright colors and prints look great on the beach.

Absolute no no’s for beach weddings (or any kind of wedding for that matter) are jeans and casual shorts (girls). Oh and no white please!

As you all know we love fashion here at Princess Wedding Co. So what kind of fashionistas are we if we do not cover latest Bridal Fashion Week that just happened in New York. Trends we have noticed are lace (not surprised), low cut backs, sheer overlays, glitter, mermaid silhouette, long sleeves (royal effect?), and short dresses.

Hello ladies,

We usually share pictures of our perfectly put together weddings. But today I will take you behind the scenes and try to explain how it comes together on your wedding day.

Our Princess Wedding Co bouquets are dropped off at your hotel the morning of the wedding.

Our wedding coordinator will show up at the ceremony site about 2 hours before the wedding.  And that’s when all the magic happens. Set up begins with our signature bamboo arbor, chairs, and aisle way decor. Then to finish the look we tie our silk sashes and set up smaller decorations.

Your guests are advised to start showing up 30 minutes prior to the ceremony.  They will be greeted by our wedding coordinator, who will direct them to take a seat and answer any questions they might have. Groom and bridal party are advised to show up 15 minutes before the ceremony. Princess Wedding Co Photographer will be there at this time to start taking pictures of decor, guests and groom.

The officiate will be at the ceremony site at least 15 minutes before the ceremony. He will take care of marriage licensee at this time. He will also assist the groom with any questions regarding vows (for some reason grooms are always nervous about messing up vows).

About 5 minutes before the ceremony the wedding coordinator will be waiting for you at the boardwalk. She will greet you, compliment you and try to calm your nerves. The bridal party will be lined up, music will start playing and all you have to do at this point is take a deep breath and walk down the aisle to meet your anxiously waiting soon-to-be husband.

These sign is a classic! For the longest time is has been used as a car sign when you drive away for the first time as husband and wife. Lately however I have seen some brides use it for photo shoot prop (kinda like Thank You sign banner).

Hello ladies,

Today we will visit wedding of Melina and Jonathan. This beautiful couple got married in front of Grand Panama Beach resort in Panama City Beach, Fl right before the sunset. When I say that we work with the most awesome brides this is the honest true! We do!

And this is one of the examples why: Officiate was late due to the accident on the road. We were waiting/ calling him constantly to get updates. Traffic was getting worse by the minute. At this point we are 20 minutes late. Now in this situation I can see many brides get frustrated and stressed (and for a good reason). God knows I was (under my professional “calm” mask).  But Melina was such a lady and kept her composure brilliantly. She told me “things happen and he will be here shortly I just know it”. And she was right! Few minutes later traffic cleared out and officiate made it. Ceremony went without a hitch. And look at our officiate jumping with the family (just to the left of the groom). Family+bride+groom happy= We are happy!

My point is, things happen (even on a wedding day) that are out of anybody’s control. It is how we choose to deal with them that make or break our day.
