I’m pretty sure every girl loves items that glitter and shimmer!  Glitter for a beach wedding is perfect.  You will have the natural glitter from the ocean and the sand combined with the glitter you incorporate:  it’ll all be so beautiful put together!  So I’ve come up with a few items you can incorporate into your big day.

The best way to add glitter is  SHOES!!  I recently came across this fabulous picture:

And then I found a blog on how to do it yourself. Come visit The Kurtz Corner for step by step instructions. So many designers are coming out with very glittery and shiny shoes!  You can sport some underneath your beautiful gown, and even ask your bridesmaids to wear them too.  What a perfect way for a girl to wear some shine!

Want to try something new?  Try adding some sparkle in your flower bouquets and boutonnieres.  Many craft stores (such as Hobby Lobby and Michael’s)  sell diamond pins that can be easily stuck into the center of flowers. Another great source for fabulous pins is Save on Crafts online store (but beware this website is addicting).   Your photographs will sure to shine with these little diamonds peeking out of your flowers!

A big part of beach wedding ceremonies is cutting and eating the cake.  Dress your cake with some bling! You can ask your baker to incorporate small flashes of shine.  They can give you some shiny flowers, diamond beading, or even top the cake with colored sequins.

Show your girly side and don’t be afraid of adding glitter to your Florida beach wedding.  There are literally so many places it can be done without being overboard.  Talk to any of our wedding coordinators what they think will be best for your wedding.

Have you noticed that brooch bouquets are becoming a hit?  How can they not when they are simply beautiful?!  I personally love them so much.  They are awesome in so many ways: they are glamourous and shiny, you can incorporate family belongings into it (maybe your grandmother or mom have a bunch of brooches or jewelry for you to have), they can be saved the way they are for practically ever, and the extra shine in your photographs will look amazing!

Feeling crafty?  You can make your bouquet by hand if you want.  And what’s great is you can make it MONTHS in advance! So sit down with your ladies and grab your mom too.  It could be a fun craft for everyone to participate in.  But just be warned, it is a tough task to do.  It will take much patience and time.  But just think of the end product: it’ll look great!!

Brooch bouquets are so extravagant, even celebrities are carrying them down the isle!  Last year, Miranda Lambert carried a stunning one!  The neat thing about hers was that she asked all the guests at her bridal shower to bring one brooch.  Then she shipped them off and the final bouquet was designed by The Ritzy Rose (they also have Etsy shop!).  The bouquet turned out stunning!

Hello ladies,

long time no see. Oh how I missed our blog and being able to share all the fun and exciting things happening in our office.

I will start with a gorgeous, awesome, and fabulous beach wedding we did few days ago. Heather and Bert (may I note again that we work with most beautiful and awesome couples on earth) were married on the beach access at Avalon neighborhood in Destin, Florida. Heather chose Bali flags as a focal point of her decor. White chairs, fresh rose petals and white flower globes complimented this beach wedding ceremony. Color palette was mixture of fresh and vibrant greens, purples and whites (brilliant!). We emailed quite a few times before we settled on the flowers for bouquets and I think they turned out perfect.

“The best proof of love is trust”  

Historically, prenuptial agreements were a basic sign that a marriage was being started without a sense of trust. In the modern age, however, a prenup can often serve as a protection factor.

What is a prenup? It is a contract you enter before marriage that essentially states what will happen in case of divorce.

If you are entering your first marriage young and without any significant assets, I would discourage against the idea. I think it would just bring unnecessary concerns of mistrust. If you make millions during your marriage and decide to get divorced down the road, then technically it is fair to share it with your spouse since he/she was by your side and hopefully supported you in your journey to success.

A second marriage can be different though.  If you have kids from a previous relationship or savings plans already set up, then a prenup can be used as a safe haven. Protect your kids and the funds you have set up for your kids. But make sure you inform your spouse-to-be that it’s not a trust factor, but instead a safety net for the interest of your kids.

Personally, I am very old fashioned and trust the person I love with all my heart (and would hope he trusts me as well). Any talk of prenup before the wedding would just make me defensive and plant a seed of mistrust in my head. The whole idea of having a contract that states in detail what happens in case of divorce is just not what I would want to think about BEFORE I get married.  I know that a lot of people would disagree with my view on  prenups and I absolutely get it. Every couple is different and their life circumstances are unique. My opinion is solely based on my beliefs and upbringing.

If you are considering a prenup, talk to your spouse-to-be about it and if it is something you are considering, get the answers you need (not the movies answers).

Last week we had a pleasure of working with a wonderful couple Rube and Aaron (who came to Destin from Ohio). Rube’s sister, Tamara, took over all beach wedding planning from the couple and together I think we executed a pretty darn gorgeous beach wedding I would love to have a sister who would just take all the stress of beach wedding planning upon herself and all I would have to do is tell her what I want and show up. Wouldn’t that be nice! Tamara had a final vision idea few hours before the actual wedding and asked me if we had peacock feathers to add to chair sashes (we didn’t). But few stops at local craft shops and voila we had perfect peacock feathers! This beach wedding went without a hitch.

Ps. Have you guys noticed how popular brooch bouquets are lately. Trend alert! I think it calls for its own post.

When planning your beach wedding, it is most probable that you and your guests will be there for more than just the big day.  So pack your bags accordingly!

Destin and Panama City Beach summers are so awesome.  Perfect sunny weather with cool ocean breezes. The best thing about beachwear is that it is so light that it can all be folded up easily into a carry on bag which allows for you and your guests to avoid baggage fees in the airport.

The first thing you should pack is some light and airy sandals!  Go with a neutral color that will match any outfit you decide to pack.

You will definitely need some flowy dresses like a baby doll dress, or even a bright-colored maxi dress.  Tank tops and shorts are always in fashion.  Pair your tank top with a plain white button up shirt.  Need some shade from the bright sun?  Pack a cute fedora!  Last but not least, don’t forget your swimsuit (my favorites Victoria Secret, L Space or Vitamin A) and sunscreen!  You can lay poolside to get a little more bronze, but if it’s before your wedding keep in mind you don’t want pesky tan lines showing when you are in your dress!

Packing light is key to getting ready for your Florida beach wedding week or weekend.  The only thing you will need to pack heavy for is your “day-of” necessities.

Sorry for completely abandoning this blog. Our wedding season has began, so final preparations and logistics of each wedding are being finalized. However, this blog is a vital part of Princess Wedding Co therefore I will keep sharing my beach wedding knowledge with you. Invitations can tell a guest a lot about your wedding.  It can tell theme the color palette, dress attire, and even level of formality.  When you plan a beach/destination wedding, tell your guests everything you can in your invitations.

If your wedding is going to be on the beach, maybe you can incorporate a seashell, mini starfish or a sand dollar.  Another great way to tell your guests your wedding will be in the sand is placing a picture of some flip-flops on your invitation.

If you plan to have your ceremony close to the beach, but not directly on it, you can take a more classic approach and just show your color palette and nothing about beaches.  Your guests will know that they can dress up a bit more and not have to worry about sand getting in their shoes.

If your wedding is going to be on a boat, try adding some nautical theme to your invitation.  Maybe an anchor, or a helm.

Invitations are easy to play around with and bring uniqueness to your big day.  Have fun!

Vera Wang is one of my FAVORITE designers!  I first fell in love with her wedding dresses after watching “Bride Wars” with Kate Hudson.  The dress she wore in that movie was absolutely stunning!

Vera Wang’s new Spring 2012 wedding dress collection is one to impress!  She introduces dresses of all different styles.  I love how she doesn’t just stick with the color white either.  She has dresses in shades of cream, tan, green, and pink. Yay!

The other day I went to the mall and saw engagement rings designed by Vera Wang.  Just like her dresses, her rings are absolutely gorgeous!  They are the dream rings of every girl!  They are flaunted with diamonds and glitter with elegance.  They are to die for!

And why not top off your big day with Vera Wang fragrance?  My favorite of hers is the “Princess” (and No I don’t love it for the name    I purchased the body lotion awhile ago and wear it almost every day, I love it!   She even has a fragrance for men, clothing line, and home decor items at Kohl’s! What? I know Vera Wang is one busy lady!

All of this organizing took most of my time during past few days (and nights). My inbox was being flooded with emails, my voice mail filling up with messages, laundry room full of clothes ready to be washed and dinner that needs to be made. I was just getting overwhelmed with my to do list (that was growing with each minute). So I had to take a minute, sit down and think. Does it really matter that my laundry will not get folded today (or tomorrow), or if I have dirty dishes piled up in the kitchen. No it does not. What matters is that my daughter is happy, my husband feels loved and my brides are taken care of. I needed to realize this and stop freaking out about small stuff.

So I took my daughter to the park, had pizza for dinner, took care of my inbox (sorry everyone for 11 pm emails), have only few calls to return and I. feel. good.

Maybe next week will be better and I will finally tackle the mounting pile of laundry, don’t judge

Wondering what you should do with your hair for the big day? I have some great ideas for all hair types!!

Long Hair

Lucky for you if you have long hair!  There are literally thousands of ways to do your hair!  But here are two general options.  If you want to flaunt your length, try going with soft, sexy waves with a cute flower tucked in a bobby pin. If you are worried about how the wind will weather your hair, try a soft undo.  Don’t style it too tight, but instead leave it loose and flowy.

Medium Hair

Medium hair can be fun to play with. If you are feeling risky you can add extensions to make it look longer or you can pin it up to make it look shorter.  Have fun and play with it! My favorite style for medium hair is a soft, elegant ponytail.  Poof it up on top and curl the ends!!  It’s sleek and sexy!

Short Hair

If you rock a shorthair style, you most likely have strong facial features.  What I can suggest is to add some bling to your hair!  Wear a cute feather, or a birdcage vail.  There are so many things you can accessorize your hair with.  Pick what is best for your day.

Usually the second dress is a much lighter style.  Some brides tend to do a shorter, maybe tea length dress, while other brides chose a more Grecian style dress that is made of silk or other lighter materials. Kate Middleton chose a full length satin dress with simple beading around the waistline.

The idea of a second dress is great.  It allows you, as a bride, to have the feeling of a princess while walking down the isle, but also the fun flirty feel while dancing your heart out at the reception.

I am so excited for our new Photo CD packaging. It is AMAZING! I have been thinking that we needed to take our (already awesome) photography to another level. Mayya and Edina are awesome at what they do and I think this gorgeous new packaging will compliment their work so much better than our old packaging.  I mean, a simple CD case in a yellow bubble envelop?  Why didn’t I think of this sooner?  :)

I have been working on this for the last month. From choosing the right colors, to the right size boxes, perfect stamps, just the right ribbon, I even learned how to heat emboss (if you have never done this I highly suggest trying it out, it’s supper cool). It took me and my husband (who generously offered his help) a few nights of watching “How I Met Your Mother” reruns to finnaly put together 100 boxes all ready to be filled with wedding photo CDs and shipped to their new homes.

Mamie + James on Etsy store has  many great choices! Their style is a very feminine and flirty.  I love how they are not just your regular garter.  They are garnished with crystals, flowers, and cute little bows.  Who wouldn’t want their new husband to seductively pull one of those off their leg?? Another great place is Emily Riggs Bridal.  Their style is completely different.  When I see Emily’s garters, I instantly think of a vintage time period where femininity was at its height.  Emily Briggs custom makes all of her garters.  They are made with simple lace, feathers, fabric flowers, jewels, and pearls.  I absolutely love ALL of her garters.

Today we have a gorgeous beach wedding of Sonya and Ricky. They had an intimate wedding with close family and friends. Sonya paid close attention to all the details. She wanted to bring rustic feel of Texas (where she is from) to the beach. Hi guys,

It has been a wonderful Holiday Season. I spent a much needed time with my family. We ate, relaxed, exchanged gifts, played board games, built snowman, and just enjoyed time together. Christmas time is absolutely my favorite time of the year! But now its time to get back to work and beach wedding planning. Lots of engagements happened during our Christmas break and our office is buzzing with the excitement! Our congrats to all Christmas brides!

Lots of new things coming up in 2012 and I just can’t wait to share them with you!

First things first I would like to wish you all a very Happy Holidays! I hope you all had a wonderful Christmas and best wishes for an incredible New Year! I can’t wait to meet each one of you and make your beach wedding a success!

I love wearing heals, but being a busy mother of two and working as a wedding coordinator I had to find heals that would be stylish as well as comfortable. Gucci d’Orsay stilettos are just that. Plus they are classic and will stay in fashion forever!

Another staple of mine are pearls. My Majorca pearls from Saks Fifth Avenue can flawlessly take my wardrobe from a casual to an elegant look. You can wear them with a T-shirt and jeans or with cocktail dress.

I resisted the “Ugg trend” for as long as I could. But this year I caved in and tried on a pair. Seriously, though, I get it now. My feet are in heaven! Still, I try to stay true to my classic look and choose to wear white ones. So what’s not to love about Uggs (besides the price tag)?  They are so comfy and paired with the right outfit can still look classy.

To escape the chaos of two kids and stress of beach weddings I light my White Sand Oasis fragranced soy candles from Target  and my whole house turns into bliss. The wonderful scent helps me feel relaxed and calm.

The best chocolate in the world is Guylian Belgian chocolate seashells. Even though I may need an extra workout after this sweet indulgence,  I love love love it.  Vita Coco Coconut water is also amazing. If you haven’t tried it yet you must. It is super refreshing, low in calories, high in potassium, completely natural and is delicious.

Being a wedding coordinator I need to stay connected with my brides and other vendors and have instant access to the internet. Many weddings have been saved thanks to my darling iPhone. It really is one of the best things invented!

Being a working mom I have little time for make up. Jane Ireland pressed powder makes my skin flawless in seconds. Plus it stays perfectly on my face during some of the hotter beach weddings.
